Ducati has confirmed that the much-rumored
848 Streetfighter will be added to Its naked lineup as a 2012 model. The middleweight Streetfighter will have "a new and brilliantly engineered 848 Testastretta 11° engine," with characteristics similar to the larger version of the 11° engine (which refers to the shorter duration of valve overlap and its benefits for midrange power) used in the Multistrada and Diavel models. Little additional
information was available, other than that the bike will be equipped with Ducati Traction Control and have revised ergonomics. The 848 Streetfighter will be available late this year, in red, yellow and "dark stealth" colors. No list price was available as we went to press.
