Man plans to write down its stake in Scania, dragging the German truck and engineering group to a net loss and ending speculation about a MAN-led deal with its Swedish rival - which, like MAN, is now effectively a VW Group subsidiary. The Financial Times reported sources close to the company saying the truck-maker planned to write down its minority stake in Scaina by £350m to just below €1bn as Trucking closed for press.The write-down by MAN's management is seen as a clear signal the firm now has no plans to take over Scania.
