Engine:
The all-new 799cc liquid cooled inline four should be good for the claimed 104bhp. If the FZ8 delivers this in the same way as the outgoing FZ6 then expect to have to spank the life out of it to get a lick on. The key to the appeal should be the 60lb-ft of torque which Yamaha brains have made more accessible thanks to cloever use of variable inlet valves and two-stage throttle valves.
Suspension:
43mm USD forks are unadjustable, but have been designed with the weight and riding expectations of a European rider in mind. The linked monoshock rear has adjustable preload.
Brakes:
Both versions will run 310mm floating discs and four piston monobloc calipers. The linked system that we'll see on the Super Tenere isn't on the cards, but ABS is available as an option. Not that weight saving should matter in this category, but the system adds 5kg.
